"Building-Stones"
As already mentioned in our previous pages, we are hoping to expand the present project, in order to open more chances for the children from Bukom. To nurture this foundation that we have already started, we need to consolidate the project present status.
Our first goal therefore is to address, the needs of the children which include: to cover all fix costs e.g. medical care, school fees, boarding, supply of clothing, wages, transportation (bus), taxes, general maintenance of all the buildings and the surroundings, office & administration maintenance in Germany and Accra etc.
The above will be financed out of, African Angel’s regular monthly and annual income, most of this being generated by membership fees from our members in Germany and wider Europe. The present number of 180 members does in the long term, sufficiently guarantee this planned structure.
Nevertheless, we firmly believe that by the end of 2008, we hope to have sufficient data available, to help us in assessing the necessary needs. By doing so, the level of the financial status, and the development of the organisation program, will continue to remains ongoing.
We are not to under-estimate the organisational demands. This can sometimes, needs immediate action. We urgently have to adjust our internal and external needs of the organisation, as we plan the way forward. We need to maintain a clear and transparent control of the money expenditure.
In some fields and segments of the organisation asks for a semi-professional work force, as we are confronted with legal and public requirements we have to fulfil. In addition to that we have obligations to our donors regarding transparency and justification of money expenditure.
African Angel will always be different from other similar non-profit organisations. Therefore to maintain that difference, we must maintain the standard we have set and keep it in situ. We need to continue and maintain an efficient, transparent and well managed organisation, that we can always be proud of.
But as we said above, only keeping this status is not our goal! In order to open the door for many more children from Bukom, we need to raise extra funds for acquisition of new facilities, installing workshops for professional training, qualified and pedagogically trained staff, computers etc.
Therefore, we not only need people to take up membership; we also urgently need Donors and Sponsors who are willing to support the project on a regular, or if preferred, on a single one time only, basis!
If you are a company, who is interesting in contributing and would like to participate in the good work African Angel in doing, please send us an email and we, in return will send you the necessary information on how you can become a Sponsor and or a Donor. We are open to many ideas and possibilities in fostering long term sponsorship within the frame of our Sponsoring Agreement.
Here are some ideas you may like to give some thought to, with regards to participating in any of the following projects? E.g.:
- Giving your name to a home for the chancless children from Bukom?
- A house being purchase and you would like to make a contribution
- A fully equipped workshop for professional training in mechanics and or electronics;
- Financing a programme for textile and designing?
- Or you may prefer to contribute to something of your own choice.
We are flexible and open to any other choices, and or, any feasible suggestions.
Wouldn’t it be a joy for you, if you could take your grandchildren sometime in the future there, and show them what you have made possible, by giving a donation for the children from Bokum; who were supposed to have no future? Please give some thoughts to this, because it’s you and your help who can make a difference, and the difference is you, in this world.
The children from Bukom are very grateful for the start you have given and made possible. However, they hope you continue your support, in order to give chances for Children, by providing and allowing them to have, the chance of uninterrupted education and professional training.
