60 children from Bukom are waiting for a topping-out ceremony
Did African Angel achieve a lot in the past years? If you have read the website, you will probably say Yes, you can be proud of your achievements! We are, but we also know Accra reality. Word is spreading fast in Bukom of the good work we are doing, and Harriets waiting list of children who want to profit from the education chances on offer is growing and growing. The more successful our work, the larger the number of children is getting who want to seize this unique chance of a lifetime. So this is why 60 children from Bukom are waiting for a topping-out ceremony:
... Because the basement (first) floor of our new house will contain a computer room, a library and a workshop. The new office is already operational. The second and third floor will hold accommodation for 30 children each, so 60 altogether! In addition, there will be rooms for caretakers and guests.
... because the brickwork of first and second floor is finished, but construction of the third floor has not even started,
... because construction work of our new house is progressing reasonably well, but still too slow for the 60 children of the long waiting list,
... because after completion of the new house the older children of the two current houses will move into the new house and thus vacate the two houses for new children from Bukom,
... because children continuously disappear from Harriets list, whose sad fate is sometimes known and sometimes never gets resolved. A life can mean so little...
... because the associations financial resources are exhausted by the construction work done to date, and we would like to have the waiting list children move in as soon as possible
... because the waiting list keeps growing at the same time, and some children will keep disappearing from the list. Children who will never get another chance.
So each day we gain in restarting the construction work means a chance for 60 children to receive education sooner and lay the foundation for a decent professional life!
Please join the effort of soon completing the new house! Donate resources for following construction expenses:
For buying different kinds of building material, like sand, concrete, reinforcing steel, etc.
For casting plaster floors, plumbing and installation of electricity
For paying workers
For wall plastering and interior fittings, etc., etc.
We made calculation: At least 30.000€ are lacking for the completion of the new house. That is 500€ per child on the waiting list!
With 500€ you can open up a chance to a child from the waiting list that it will otherwise never have! With 500€* you can give hope, perspectives and even plans for the futre to a child from Bukom! Please help!
