"Harriet on Tour"

"Harriet on Tour"

Having read this website in detail, you will have noticed that Harriet adores children and adolescents. And this does not only apply to children in her care in Accra. It is equally important to her to spread information about Africa to the children of her new home country. Specifically, she wants to convey why education is important for young Africans, and why it often is so hard to get.

Each opportunity is welcome

For this reason, Harriet is happy about each opportunity to report of her work, her life and her African Angel project at a kindergarten, a primary or a high school. But she also likes to visit Christian communties, retirement homes, and university students. Since her life story is in a certain way typical of an African migrant, she has also been invited to international conferences on this subject.

So far, and amongst others, Harriet visited the following institutions:

  • Kindergarten in Bonn, 13 May 2008
  • Municipat high school, Oelde
  • Primary School Düsseldorf-Knittkuhl
  • Anna Lichtenberg High School, Geilenkirchen
  • Lintorf-Comenius School, Ratingen
  • Independant Protestant Church, Ratingen
  • Catholic parish of St. Anna, Beutelsbach

Readings or movie

On these visits, she will be happy to read from her book ‚African Angel’ (in German) and/or to show a film (DVD) about the project in Ghana. Harriet especially looks forward to the ensuing discussion with the children or other participants, because they are very instuctional to all parties.

No encounter is too small .... so ask us about ‚Harriet on Tour’!

The African Angel project is no big organisation, and for this reason personal contact is extremely important to Harriet. We therefore welcome every respective request from you. But please keep in mind that we depend on the inviting party covering the travelling costs, and a hotel room if required. Needless to say, a donation would be very welcome as well!
